Materials…

  • White parchment craft paper
  • Fan stencil medium designer grid (SPB010M1)
  • Green 8mm crystal brad
  • Pink 5mm flat-backed crystal
  • Green 3mm flat-backed crystal
  • Pink tassel
  • Glue
  • Medium, small & extra small embossing tools and embossing mat
  • Pricking tool

To create…

1 Lay the stencil onto the parchment paper and hold it in place with low-tack tape. Turn the stencil over so the paper is on top of the stencil, and rub over gently with a little wax, then emboss all of the design, using the larger tools for the large shapes and the smaller tools for the smaller details.

2 Once you have finished embossing, turn the stencil over so it is now on top of the paper, and prick through all the holes around the fan segments. Remove the stencil from the paper and very carefully tear the segments away. Make up the other eight segments in the same way.

3 Punch a hole big enough for a brad in the end of each fan segment using a small circle punch, making sure all the holes line up with each other. Lay the segments on your work surface and arrange them into a fan shape. Overlap the bottom end parts, then push the brad through the holes to hold the end of the fan together.

4 Lay the fan so that one side of each segment is very slightly overlapping on top of the next segment. Add a tiny amount of glue to the very edge of each segment, so they will stick and hold in place.

5 Finish by adding 3mm green crystals and 5mm pink crystals as shown.
