Materials…

  • Deep pink and pale pink A4 cardstock
  • Thick white vellum or parchment craft paper
  • Joycraft stencil (6001/0029)
  • Small & extra small ball embossing tools
  • Green/white spot satin ribbon
  • Green 4mm flat-backed crystals
  • Pale green 3mm pearls
  • Vellum-safe glue or double-sided tape
  • Low-tack tape

To create…

1 Lay the embossing stencil onto a piece of white vellum or parchment craft paper and hold it in place with low-tack tape. Turn the stencil and paper over so the stencil lays underneath the paper.

2 Place the stencil and paper onto an embossing mat, then rub over the paper lightly with a little wax and emboss your design. Remove the stencil.

3 Follow the steps below to assemble the bookmark, with the embossed panel behind it. Finish by adding flat-backed pearls and crystals to the centres of the flowers as shown.

How to make a vellum bookmark…

1 Cut a piece of deep pink cardstock to 16.6cm long and 18cm wide. Measure and mark at 6cm and 12cm to make 3x6cm sections.

2 Trim a 4.4cm wide and 14.6cm long aperture in the middle section. Trim the vellum to fit, allowing enough space around the design to fix the vellum onto the framework of the aperture. Fix pale pink cardstock behind the embossed panel.

3 Fold over one of the side sections and fix in place. Cut a piece of green spotted ribbon long enough to make a loop at the top, and for two tails to show at the bottom. Fix in place, then fold over the other section and fix in place as before.
